The Supportive Correctional Supervisor™ (TSCS)

Did you know that research suggests that the quality of corrections staff’s professional relationship with their supervisors affects staff morale, job satisfaction, physical and emotional energy levels, mental health, physical health, and family health? Training supervisors in servant leadership skills improves staff’s perceptions of their workplace culture, and reduces their anxiety, depression, and burnout. A supportive supervisory style can even reduce staff’s use of work-related sick days! This course is a must for improving the well-being of the entire agency!

Given the influential and formative role of mid-level supervisors in the correctional workplace, this highly interactive course is designed to equip supervisors with research-based skills and information to manage subordinates constructively. Such a supervisory style can contribute to the creation and maintenance of sound, wellness-promoting workforce cultures, thus benefiting all stakeholders in the agency and in the community.

The research-based content of this course is enhanced by inclusion of a visually inspiring PowerPoint slide deck, a comprehensive and interactive Participant Manual, small group activities, scenario-based activities, individual self-reflection worksheets, and large group discussion.

The 40-hour The Supportive Correctional Supervisor™ (TSCS) course is offered in person or online.

Additionally, the CF2F version for Administrators and Supervisors is offered directly to over two days. Please contact us for details.
