The CF2F Instructor Training certifies your correctional agency instructors to offer the 8-hour CF2F course to your agency’s staff. Team-teaching is very strongly recommended.

**A slightly modified version of CF2F is available as a refresher for staff who have already taken the course.

The CF2F Instructor Training is offered: (a) in person as a 5-day, 40-hour training followed by 2 hours of phone coaching; or (b) as a hybrid 42-hour interactive online teaching, independent study, and phone coaching*.NEW!

*If your correctional agency or a combination of agencies in your area want to have 10 or more CF2F instructors trained at a location near you, DWCO’s CF2F Master Instructors will come to you.

Certified instructors* and Co-instructors** are licensed for three years*** to offer the 8-hr CF2F course to staff at their agency.

*Instructors can teach the CF2F course on their own if needed.

**Co-instructors must always team-teach the course with a CF2F Instructor.

***Certification can be renewed for another three years by passing an online exam.

The purpose of CF2F is: (a) to educate corrections professionals on the nature of Corrections Fatigue, its facets and its precursors; and (b) to present strategies for deterring it and for boosting staff well-being and professional growth, resulting in Corrections Fulfillment.

CF2F includes the following components:

  1. Exploration of challenges of corrections work and their negative impact on staff, their family members, and the workforce culture.
  2. Examination of strategies to counter or prevent Corrections Fatigue and its adverse effects on the health of individual staff and correctional agencies.
  3. Identification of individual and organizational strategies to pursue professional satisfaction and engagement of the correctional workforce in the midst of high-stress working conditions often encountered in corrections.

Please note that this is NOT a Master Instructor training. Certified Instructors are NOT licensed to train other Instructors. They are licensed to offer the CF2F course to staff at their agency.

Training that finally validated what corrections staff actually deal with on a daily basis. A real training on what the job does to our health and family lives.

This course provides me with tips/suggestions which I can apply to my own life as well as enable me to teach to my staff and co-workers.

This course gave terminology and organizational focus on subjects/phenomena that some people and myself have worked to address in a haphazard way unofficially for a long time. Hopefully this will always be supported and part of jobs from here on.

This difficult topic was presented in ways that can relate to all levels of staff. It provides ways that we have not had training/resources to help our staff previously. Information is very relevant and presented in a way that engages all class participants. I think this program will provide our staff with realistic and beneficial skills to better themselves.
