
Liz worked for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS DOCCS ) for over ten years as an Offender Rehabilitation Coordinator. Liz was a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team, serving as the Assistant Team Coordinator, and deploying for debriefings throughout New York State assisting corrections and parole professionals. Liz also served as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator, and created and implemented a staff wellness program at her facility. Liz’s true passion is working with first responders to provide them with tools to use in their day-to-day careers. She is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and has been teaching culturally competent and trauma-informed yoga, breathwork, meditation and grounding techniques to first responders across New York State. Liz is an active member of the New York State Law Enforcement Assistance Program (NYLEAP), providing peer support and participating in post-critical incident seminars. While working for NYS DOCCS, Liz was trained by Desert Waters as an instructor to offer the “Improving the Well Being of Corrections Professionals” (IWCP) training to her coworkers. After completing additional training by Desert Waters, she became a Master Instructor for IWCP in 2024. Liz is committed to helping and teaching corrections professionals how to manage the stress of their careers, build resilience, and live healthy and fulfilling lives both behind the wall and within the community.
